A Detroit HVAC Company for Winter, Summer and Everything Between

Our name says it plainly: All Seasons HVAC Detroit keeps homes comfortable whether it's a January cold snap or a sticky August night. We handle the furnace in the fall, the air conditioner in the spring and anything that breaks in between.

We serve houses all over Detroit and the neighboring suburbs. Older bungalows and newer builds each come with their own quirks, and we take the time to understand yours.

Before any repair, you'll know what we found and what the work involves. If a system is old and the fix is major, we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth it.

Questions We Hear Every Season

Why does my furnace smell like burning when I first turn it on?

A dusty smell on the first startup of the season is usually dust burning off the heat exchanger and should fade within an hour. If it doesn't, or it smells electrical, turn the system off and call us.

When is the best time to schedule HVAC maintenance?

Book the furnace in September or October and the air conditioner in April or May, before the first cold snap and the first heat wave.

Is duct cleaning worth it?

It can be after a renovation, when you move into an older home, or if dust blows from the vents. We'll look first and tell you honestly whether your ducts need it.

Why is one floor of my house warmer than the other?

Duct layout, undersized returns, insulation and the thermostat's location all play a part. We can look at your system and suggest practical fixes.

Can a heat pump replace my furnace?

Sometimes. Many Detroit homes do best with a dual-fuel setup, where a heat pump handles most of the year and the furnace takes over on the coldest days.

What counts as an HVAC emergency?

No heat in freezing weather, no cooling for vulnerable people during a heat wave, a burning smell or a tripped breaker that keeps tripping. If you smell gas, leave and call the gas company first.

Have a different question? We're happy to talk it through.

Common HVAC Problems in Detroit Through the Year

Each season brings its own trouble for heating and cooling equipment around Detroit.

  1. Fall: furnaces that won't start after summer

After months off, dirty flame sensors, weak igniters and dead thermostat batteries are the usual reasons a furnace won't fire on the first cold night.

  2. Winter: heating one floor but not the other

Older homes with original ductwork often heat the main floor well but leave bedrooms upstairs chilly when it's below zero outside.

  3. Spring: AC coils clogged with pollen and debris

Pollen, cottonwood fluff and leaves pack outdoor coils, so the first warm week shows which units need a cleaning.

  4. Summer: humidity the AC can't keep up with

An oversized or poorly maintained system can cool the air without drying it, leaving the house clammy.

  5. All year: dust and debris in the ductwork

Renovations, pets and years of use leave dust in the ducts that gets blown back into the rooms.
